WhatsApp groups, now in your Inbox

A quick recap of the biggest things we shipped this week. The full list is below.

WhatsApp groups, now in your Inbox

Most of a club's coordination happens in WhatsApp, and almost every club we've spoken to has told us the same thing: they can't keep up with it. Now the Assistant reads your club's groups — each one shows up in the Inbox with its picture and every message under the sender's name. When a player asks for a game there, it becomes a came-in message with a few players who'd be a good fit.

And because reading a busy group chat means occasionally guessing wrong, staff can dismiss anything the Assistant misread with one tap. It takes the correction and moves on.

The lead sheet

Clubs wish they could figure out their schedule in advance, instead of last-minute filling — but blast emails don't work, and neither does posting in WhatsApp. The lead sheet personalizes texts and sends them one-to-one: for a program, the Assistant builds the invite list — who played recently, who's likely in — with a reason next to every name, so you can see why each person is on it. Remove someone and tell it why (it remembers), add anyone from the club, then hit send. Invites go out gradually through the club's own number, like a person texting — not a blast.

Direct message or group — your choice

Some messages belong in a private text, some in the group. Every outreach task now has a toggle: text each player one-to-one, or in a group, with a picker for who else joins. And "New message" always opens a private conversation with the member — never one of their group chats by accident.

Improvements

Texts

Messages to players open with "Hi" and the name they go by, and end on the last real sentence. No more "– The front desk team."

Suggestions

A came-in message never suggests someone who's already playing that day, someone on staff, or the same person twice.

Courts

Open-court cards to plan a week of outreach.

Padel clubs

Padel-first setup for clubs where padel is the main sport.

App

One app color at every club.

Fixes

Playbypoint

The player list now matches Playbypoint's own Players report.
